This video is the final thesis project for a student at Sheridan College. In his own words, his thoughts on the video:
I have always thought of Carl Sagan’s writings as “scientific poetry” since they lack the cold touch that science is often cursed for having. I think Sagan’s words resonate more than ever, and will continue with each generation until the human species “wakes up”. The first time I heard this excerpt from his book “Pale Blue Dot” it literally changed my life, and I hope it does for you too. Enjoy.
The perspective of the earth from far deep out in space is something that still profoundly touches me every time I think of it. Everything we have ever created, everything we’ve ever discovered, has come from this little dot. Everything that we are is contained within that dot.
It is possible at some point in the distance future, we’ll expand into the rest of the solar system, into the rest of the galaxy, the rest of the universe. We possess the potential to do so, even if we lack the capability. But until then, we’re all in this little lifeboat known as earth. Together.
-That is all.
